Performance Prediction Software
We develop bespoke radar performance prediction tools tailored to meet the needs of individual customers. These incorporate cutting edge radar performance models that have been continually developed over the last decade. Our models are used by several radar systems companies and the UK Defence Science and Technical Laboratory for the accurate prediction of radar detection performance in a wide range of environments.
Model components
- Environment. Described by sea-state, wind speed, precipitation rate and atmospheric attenuation
- Clutter models. RSRE and GIT models of sea clutter normalised RCS. Clutter statistics described by Rayleigh, K or KA distributions (modelling discrete clutter spikes).
- Target models. Standard Swerling targets augmented by the Shnidman technique for gamma distributed targets in noise.
- Processing. Coherent, incoherent, scan-to-scan or pulse-to-pulse integration, track before detect, CFAR
